Wow! You got your first customer and you made some smart investment choices! But obviously a business can't run off of a few customers! You now need to learn the basics on how to get more customers!

First thing first!

You need to promote your business! Which is explained in a previous Page. But once that is done you need to know how to handle and give a good impression on new customers!

Let's say you get a call and they want you to cut their grass (just a example) they say "what's your rate?". Now, before we go any further you must know that if you do not give a good and enthusiastic attitude one the phone, they will get a very bad impression on you and move to the next person! BUT!!!! You can't be a "suck up" either! You need to act as if you have lots of customers already! This will show that your schedule is really filled and that you have lots of other jobs! Proving that your the best person around to do the thing your business does!

Now, getting back to the conversation on the phone. They say "what's your rate?" like I said, you need to be really enthusiastic. You say "my rates are the cheapest around! I'll come and do (your business service) right now for (some crazy price) and if you think I do a good job you can give a bit of a tip!". They say "wow! You have really good prices! When could you come?". Well, Mr/Mrs (last name) I have to look at my schedule because I'm really booked up these days. I'll have to get back to you. Can I have your phone number please?"

Now after this you ask that person to spread the word that you offer (you business service). Then you must do that for each customer you have!
